Dr. Adam Lazzarini was charged with involuntary manslaughter after a man died of a gunshot wound at Lazzarini’s Cayce home on Oct. 9.
After being charged, Lazzarini’s medical license was suspended by the S.C. Board of Medical Examiners, but that suspension has been lifted, said Eric Bland, Lazzarini’s attorney.
Now, Lazzarini, a hip surgeon who worked for Lexington Medical Center, wants to go back to work.
“He is not a threat to his patients, staff or the public.” said Bland of Lazzarini. “He has a clean record and he is well-regarded.”
Bland also said Lazzarini, who worked in LMC’s sports orthopedics department, offers a valuable service to the community and he is needed.
